Principals Report – Erin Hills:
Terry Fox: raised $3165.
- Rewards: PJ day, lunch mix up day, extra recess, whole
school game, superhero day, Maxwell’s beard, pink hair for Mr Y and Felhaber,
whole school pizza lunch in the gym Oct 23.
Trips: water festival, x country run. - Volunteer ratio for kinderland is 1:4, primary is 1:8. Parent volunteers are helping
with library visits.
Graduation: - Hold off paying for 2027 grads at this time until Erin firms up a price with Port
Cunnington Lodge - Last September, paid for 11 students for the 2026 grad, need one additional grad
for 2026 - Next grad (2027) – 18 graduates
- Cost is now $55 per meal + gratuity and tax (previously $50) – $74.58 ($76.82
with 3%) - $1273 total for all grads (2027)
- Insurance $140.00 plus 8% tax (151.20)
Please accept this as confirmation that Irwin Memorial – school council has been
added to the OSBIE School Council Liability insurance program effective October 7th,
2025 to October 31st, 2025. The invoice for the prorated premium will follow later this
month for $89 plus 8% tax, total $96.12.
Patti Blundell update:
- Halloween costume switch out went great, maybe advertise sooner for next year
- Thanksgiving Feast, 17 parent volunteers, was a great day!
- The amount for the feast was: $411.55 and for the buses (we motioned) it was:
$480.66. We had to purchase extra insurance to cover from October 10th –
October 31st for the event which was $89 plus 8% tax, with the total being
$96.12 - We did have some leftovers so that will help with the first hot lunch and breakfast
program. - Soccer Fest BBQ today went great. Definitely would like to do it again next year if
we do the event again. The BBQ raised $404.65.
Treasurer Report – Lynda - Buses and insurance will be added to doc after meeting
Hot Lunch – Joanna (October 30th) - Hot Turkey soup for October hot lunch, halloween themed sides
- Happening during second lunch
- Camp Olympia donating. Ashley has some items for breakfast club. Will touch
base again after her last 2 groups to see if there are any other donated items. - November hot lunch Thursday Nov. 20th
Breakfast Program – Lynda
- Thank you Camp Olympia for the donations
- Breakfast club has been running smoothly – thanks Rachel for your contributions
- We’re okay for volunteers at the moment
Fundraising:
- Poinsettia fundraiser
- Will be delivered early December
- Kids can make Christmas cards for us to sell at the Beacon, Dwight Market, the
library, etc. - Mr. Y will organize Irwin clothing. Funds raised will go towards school
Halloween Party – Nicole
- Saturday, October 25th at 6 – 8pm.
- Need some more volunteers to help make the event go well.
- Contact Nicole Caracciolo if you’re able to help out.
Wish List: - Possible talent show being discussed
- Mouse traps are needed in the library
- 5 Gallon Water Dispenser for dispensing beverages at bbqs.
- New BBQ/Griddle – ours is on the brink of collapsing!
- Deeper sink in kitchen – Erin is on top of this
- Freaky Friday with the staff? Ex. Luke teach kinderland and Mel teach ⅞.
