Help Us Send Local Kids to Camp!

Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions provides child welfare services for all Simcoe and Muskoka, and runs a few community programs to support the families they serve, including the Camp Program, which runs until the end of the summer.
This program has been running for over 20 years to provide funding for children and youth to access summer programs that foster learning, development, and community connection. Through a structured referral process, their social workers identify clients facing financial barriers who would benefit from summer programming. These referrals are then evaluated by their Communications and Community Relations Team, which matches children and youth with available funding and program opportunities tailored to their interests and needs. In some cases, they also provide ‘camp in a box’ activities for children who can’t or don’t want to go to camp, but instead will experience camp at home.

The more funding they are able to receive, the more they can cover registration fees for children and youth requesting access to summer camps or extracurricular programs of their choice, offering them a chance to explore their passions, build critical life skills, and enhance their sense of belonging. This initiative will also positively impact caregivers, local camps, and the broader Muskoka community by fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for the next generation.
